Phyllis E. Florman is an
attorney who concentrates in arbitration and mediation. She is a member of
the National Academy of Arbitrators. Her arbitration and mediation
experience includes a wide variety of private sector and public sector
experience including employment, labor, discrimination, commercial,
securities, and contract disputes. Ms. Florman's experience covers a broad
range of issues and industries.
Ms. Florman is a frequent speaker on labor and employment law matters.
From 1986 to 1996 she was Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of
Louisville School of Law. Ms. Florman is a contributing author for the 4th
Edition and the 5th Edition of Elkouri and Elkouri, How Arbitration
Works, and is chapter editor for the American Bar Association's Discharge
and Discrimination.
She currently serves as the chairperson of the Kentucky Bar Association's
Labor and Employment Law Section. Ms. Florman is past president of the Law
Alumni Association, and a past neutral chairperson of the Louisville Bar
Association Labor and Employment Law Section. Since 1986 she has been
serving on the Ethics Committee of the Medical Society and of a hospital.
Ms. Florman is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Law.
Ms. Florman has been certified as having completed the Harvard Law School
Mediation Training for Attorneys in 1994.
